Gold IRA Rollover Process & Custodian Selection Strategy: 2024 Guide Released

Feb 9, 2024

Palmy Funds - a website dedicated to news, commentary, and informational resources for retirement savers - releases a new guide to gold IRA rollovers.

Free Town, Jamaica - February 9, 2024 /NewsNetwork/ —

The launch offers readers a detailed look at the advantages of diversifying retirement investments by "rolling over" a portion of funds into a gold IRA (individual retirement account). Precious metals have long been regarded as a safe haven during periods of economic instability and can help savers avoid the worst effects of inflation and fluctuating share prices.

More details can be found at https://palmyfunds.net/gold-ira-rollover-step-by-step-guide-process/

Palmy Fund's latest release provides a step-by-step guide to setting up a gold IRA including choosing a custodian, opening a self-directed IRA, funding the account, purchasing IRS-approved gold, and implementing secure storage measures. The guide also covers tips on safe transfers, storage options, and tax regulations and their implications for gold investors.

A gold IRA rollover, the guide explains, entails transferring funds from one type of retirement account - most typically a 401(k) or a traditional IRA - to a self-directed IRA that holds gold. Transfers are classified differently from withdrawals and are not seen as taxable events. However, the piece points out that investors must follow the correct process to ensure they are not liable for early withdrawal fees or taxes.

For this reason, Palmy Funds suggests that a direct rather than an indirect transfer of funds is safest. With indirect transfers, funds are transferred to the account holder who then has 60 days to deposit the sum in the gold IRA before the withdrawal is taxed.

Readers are also given some tips on finding the right custodian. The guide suggests finding one with a strong track record, positive customer reviews, transparent fee structures, a wide range of IRS-approved products, and a secure storage facility. There are also choices to be made regarding storage with segregated and commingled options available - each with varying fees and implications for the resale value of gold assets.

Finally, the article looks at annual contribution limits. Gold IRAs are subject to the same limits as traditional and Roth IRAs although the rollover itself does not count towards annual limits.

The guide states, “Remember, the key to a successful Gold IRA rollover is education and preparation. Take the time to understand your options, choose the right custodian, and stay informed about the market.”

A jewelry gift with a story of gratitude at Maddox

A jewelry gift with a story of gratitude at Maddox

Oct 16, 2026

A search for a jewelry gift became a conversation about sacrifice and second chances when award-winning actress Katherine Luna visited Maddox Jewelry and spoke with its owner, Charo Cordial.
Luna wanted something for her eldest child, whose care had sustained her through four years in prison because of drugs. As she explained the reason behind the gift, in an interview also shared on the boutique’s popular YouTube channel, she shared the family story that brought her to the store. The actress had won Best Actress for “Babae sa Breakwater,” her first leading role. But amid family and relationship problems, she began using drugs, and her career and personal life unraveled. Her eldest was only 14 when she was imprisoned. With no relatives helping her, her children took responsibility for her care. “When I was imprisoned, my children were the ones who looked after me, especially my eldest,” she told Cordial. Every week, her eldest traveled from Manila to Montalban to bring her food. Luna’s savings lasted until her final year in prison. As her eldest approached 18, the child asked permission to work. Their support helped her endure the absence of relatives, although she said she held no resentment. “I still understand them.” Luna also recalled limited food rations inside prison, where inmates waited to see whether anything would be left. Yet she found opportunities to rebuild. She was entrusted with duties in the kitchen and store. She completed high school and pursued vocational training, including dressmaking. Encouragement from people who believed in her helped restore her hope. “That was when I began to feel alive again. That was when I found hope,” she said. Her eldest also provided for the family during a period when Luna was recovering from surgery and had no work. When money ran short, the child pawned two gold necklaces. They were never redeemed. “It was for us, for the family,” Luna said. Now finding work again, Luna visited Maddox Jewelry to choose a gift for her eldest — her chance to give jewelry back to the child who had once parted with it for their sake. At Maddox, those memories gave the gift a meaning beyond adornment. Luna’s conversation with Cordial turned a visit to choose jewelry into a personal account of a mother’s gratitude — for a child who had given up gold but never given up on her.
